About reaching the goal...

Hello Friends,

What an amazing journey this past year has been and the realization of the goal of writing 365 days of inspiration.  As with all things important, we learn through toiling, we must invest great discipline and incredible soul searching, to discover, how in the process of reaching for the goal, one's spirit is renewed.

Perhaps the greatest lesson realized, is being rejuvenated and feeling alive.  In learning to process the every day emotions, we discover a sense of joy and happiness that comes in trusting one's intuitive self.  We come to know with certainty, we never go it alone; rather, if we open our heart and mind we see with eye's wide open, others cheering us on, and believing with us.  Until my book in print (spring 2011)...always your friend.

About you raise me up...

Hello Friends,

I often think of the words in the song "you raise me up to walk on mountains, you raise me up through stormy seas", and how uplifting and inspirational are those very words.  As we live the moments of our life, it's important that we look for the relationships that empower and sustain us.  What I mean by that, is they are the fuel for our soul, and the hope along our journey.  Perhaps these words express it better; "I am strong when I am on your shoulders, you raise me up to more than I can be."

The message is very simple.  We must always find the internal strength within us to accomplish our goals, but the very fact that others support us, often is the enabler of all things possible because they believe with us. The most important thing that I have come to know with certainty, is the relationships of our life build us up; to spend time on those who do not, we waste our heart fires and exhaust our soul.  When we learn that those who love are all that we really need, we let go of others, and in the process, find our joy and happiness.  Until next time...

About Christmas...

Hello Friends,

Magically as if just a moment had just passed in our lives, Christmas is upon us once again. We pause, knowing that it is okay to stop and rest awhile as so many others in our work and life are doing that very thing. It’s a time of reflection, of joy and celebration. The decorated tree warms our heart, and we know with certainty, family and friends are the true presents of our life. No other gift can replace that very thing and while it is delightful to open a lovely wrapped gift, what's more important is opening our arms and embracing a hug.

It’s important this time of year to simply be grateful for all that our journey through life has given us.  We reflect and know that with the challenges of the past year have also come with unbelievable joys.  Those are what we must choose to always remember. As we think about the new year being but a few days away, it is not the planning of new year’s resolutions that is the impact on our life; rather it’s how we live and commit to our life daily, that is the true measure of who we have become. Until next time…

About I'm glad I didn't know...

Hello Friends,

There are many times along our journey through life when we wish we could know the ending to the story and intuitively go in the right direction and make decisions with certainty.  That is not our reality, or how we move through the events of our life, nor is it realistic to assume that will ever be the case. The truth is, life is a risk and more often, we need to find the moments of gratefulness and in the lyrics of the words "I’m glad I didn’t know"; meaning "how it all would end."

Perhaps the real truth is found in admitting we would not aspire to the goal if we knew the challenges or disappointments we would face.  It is truly in the struggle and in the overcoming, that we equip ourselves with future tools to manage. If the goals were easy to achieve, we would simply not aspire to reach them. We would miss the refinement of our character and the sheer joy that is experienced in reaching the milestone. Without knowing the ending and what lies ahead, we come to know, that overcoming, is what makes the journey worthwhile. Until next time…

About never a dull moment...

Hello Friends,

There are no dull moments along our journey through life, if we but see the positive in all situations.  That's not always easy to do, especially when the pressures seem to swallow us up, and threaten to wreck our attitude.  It is during these times we must continually readjust and climb towards the mountain top to reach our goals.

This quote by Elisabeth Kubler-Ross perhaps explains it best when she penned; "It is only when we truly know and understand that we have a limited time on earth, and we have no way of knowing when that time is up, that we will begin to live each day to the fullest, as if it were the only one we had. "  How wonderful to embrace and believe in those very words, knowing with certainty, the gift of life, is ours to behold.  It's all in how we choose to see it, that matters most.  Until next time...

About not on my watch...

Hello Friends,

So many things along our journey through life require our undivided attention and ultimate commitment to their success.  Most recently a colleague of mine and I were discussing such an event and the conversation centered around the words "failure is not optional" and "not on my watch."  That is the very attitude we should aspire to reach each day as we work through our options.

We can choose every single day how we will approach the situations of our life.  Will we absolutely choose success, or will we give in and allow the moments to cause us to doubt the very fabric of our souls, and defeat us?  If our thoughts can constantly interweave that delicate balance, then we learn with certainly it is all about adjustment.  Find that key and you find your success.  Until next time...

About loving what you do...

Hello Friends,

How wonderful to wake up every single day and know with absolute certainty that you love what you do. The adventures of our life are the very moments that help us to understand that joy and happiness are realized when we embrace them all; good and bad, challenging or energizing.

We simply choose to overcome and see the goal in sight.  We decide that loving what we do, and doing it to the best of our ability, is what matters most.  On our journey through life, to have this gift present, is something to be truly grateful for.  It is the enabler that makes all things seem possible; you need only to believe.  Until next time...

About standing all alone...

Hello Friends,

Perhaps one of the most difficult of all things in our life is when we feel as though we are standing all alone.  I'm not sure it is really our reality, but in that time, we feel it is so.  We can't always figure out why we momentarily feel that way, or even why we feel, no one seems to understand that which we are facing.  Maybe it's because we close ourselves off, choosing rather to deal with what we are facing by ourselves.

What I have come to know with absolute certainty, it is in the very moments of deciding to trust others, to let them in, and simply admit we do not have all things figured out, that we realize we are not alone.   In the midst of our struggle and of our success,  we discover others are always with us; we but need to trust that very thing is so, and we are saved by their love and care.  Until next time...

About pushing yourself to the limit...

Hello Friends,

We all have days when the hours seem endless, the tasks requiring attention too many in volume, and we know with absolute certainty, we are pushed to the limit of our capability.  Our reserves are depleted and our emotions drained.  We momentarily pause, knowing that is truly within our power and control to find what it takes to just hang on a little while longer, and complete the tasks.

We know that failure is not optional, so we summon up the strength and the determination to finish.  While internal motivation is important, it is during this time, what we really need is ultimate commitment and true belief we will make it.  In the process of staying focused, we find the energy, and with a renewed sense of resolve we make it to the goal.  Until next time...

About the voyage of discovery...

Hello Friends,

Provust penned these words; "The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeing new landscapes, but in having new eyes."  How amazing to reflect on those very words and their meaning.  We come to understand along our journey through life, that we do not always have to search for new things, rather we need to see what we have, with new eyes.

That alters the very fabric of our life when we internalize what it means to open our heart and mind to all that surrounds us.  What I mean by that, is we learn to find a sense of peacefulness and happiness right where we are instead of the need to go searching for something new.  In process of discovery we open our mind and enjoy the present life we live with happiness.  Until next time...

About snowflakes...

Hello Friends,

The beauty of the first snow fall is something that leaves one breathless at its beauty.  While we don't treasure the moments of driving through the snow, it is lovely to see it cover the ground and trees with purity and whiteness.  Perhaps what's most important is we take it in and allow the moments to bring us present and the reality that winter is upon us.

It is a time of change and adapting and maybe that's the real message.  With each season comes a time of reflecting that it seemed a mere few moments in time and a year has passed us by.  What's most important is that we make every single day count; that we don't wish for that which we do not have; rather we find in celebrating the seasons acceptance of the times of our life.  Until next time...

About counting the days...

Hello Friends,

How often on our journey through life do we see the end goal and count the very days until we we know for sure it is achieved.  We can hardly contain the excitement that is ours, yet the reality is, we must stay focused as there is work left to do.  Every mindful of the finish line, we convince ourself every single day we will make it.

What's most important is not losing sight of the achievement.  While others can motivate and are inspire us, it is the constant reminder that we must do the actual work ourselves, that keeps us focused.  Each step, no matter how painful or slow, moves us one step closer to the goal and counting the days till we get there.  Until next time...

About the quiet moments of reflection...

Hello Friends,

In the stillness of the day, and in the quiet moments of reflection, we think about the entire sense of gratefulness that is part of our life, and just how fortunate we are.  At times, it seems almost magical and surreal, as we reflect on those moments that simply bring us happiness.

We can never do this very thing too often; rather in finding time, we put all things into perspective.  It's all too easy to complain over things and to forget just how much is right and true for us in our present life.  In the process of our journey, we must stay grounded to that which we hold dear.  Until next time...

About the power within...

Hello Friends,

Every day along our journey through life, we must find the power within ourselves to reach our goals.  While we look to others to support us and unconditionally love us, our real success is truly enabled when we figure things out and what is needed.   Oliver Wendell Holmes penned these words so long ago;  "A mind once stretched with a new ideas will never go back to it's original dimension."

How amazing to know we possess such power within; to enable our scope of possibilities to reach out and embrace that potential and to go after the prize that awaits with our effort.  To even for a moment think this is not an incredible task, or one so worthy of the effort, would mean we truly didn't understand what it takes.  Finding the power within takes incredible focus and determination.   Until next time...

A picture postcard...

Hello Friends,

It seems that it may be a long lost art to receive a personalized picture postcard.  Perhaps the real importance lies in the fact someone took the time to write it; to pen the thoughts that were on their mind.  Maybe it's about the warmness that is felt in the moment of receiving it, that makes it so nice.

What I have come to know with certainty is that joy and happiness are intertwined and found in the simplest of things.  In the midst of our journey through life we find encouragement in words and inspiration in the message.  It is a reminder of how important it is to reach out to others.  Until next time...

About getting your life back...

Hello Friends,

Whether we ever set out to purposefully get our life back,  the reality may be, more that we discover, one day we have.  What I mean by that, is renewing our soul and regaining our perspective of what's most important to us.  Restoration comes about one step at a time and while some things come easy, others take much longer.

In the process of our journey through life, ultimately what is required, is allowing the healing to begin within.  To move past those things that once stopped us, to work through the emotions of pain, and then to ultimately come to know with certainty that every single moment led us to where we are right now; getting our life back and living that life with joy and happiness.  Until next time...

About pushing yourself to the limit...

Hello Friends,

When our reserves are depleted and our emotions drained, it is then we know we have truly pushed ourselves to the limit.  While failure is not optional, we are truly stretched to know how we will find the strength and determination to just try harder and make it to the goal.

Perhaps what's most important is momentarily stopping and finding a way to give our mind a break from the tasks that lie before us.  We know that motivation is not enough; rather rest is what is needed. We pause, then press on, ever mindful that the prize is found in the achievement of the goal.  It is the journey that takes us to the destination, but is the certainty that the arrival is but a mere step away, that keeps us going.  Until next time...

About pretty bows...

Hello Friends,

When all else fails, and the moments in life seem way too busy, stopping is all we have.  Perhaps what's needed most is to find the joy in something simple, and yet so elegant as a present wrapped with a pretty bow. Maybe that's because it has the power to bring one's mind to a relaxed stage, and there, we find a sense of peacefulness, if even for just a few moments.

It should be that easy, but often, it is difficult to achieve.  In the process of living our lives, we are absorbed in all that is expected from us, and just not enough hours in any given day to get things done.  We come to know with certainty, that while a pretty bow will not solve everything, it does come at a time we need it most.  In simplicity we find calmness; in calmness we find peace.  Until next time...

About the compass of our life...

Hello Friends,

The days pass by so quickly and the moments are ever changing.  The compass of our life guides us in the right direction we need to be heading.   It's difficult at times to comprehend just what this compass does for us, except to say, it keeps us on track.  At times we want to deviate from the course that is laid out before us and this is natural; in fact, it then we discover that life is all about the journey.

The destination, while important, and the compass while essential, is not nearly as important as the experiences along the way that define who we become in the process.  What I have come to know more than anything else in my life, is arriving at the destination does not matter, if I did not enjoy the journey.  The value placed on it seems to diminish when the end goal is all we see.  To find joy and happiness in the experience while moving towards the goal is really what matters most.  Until next time...

About being connected...

Hello Friends,

Being connected with others is the joy in our life that brings out the best in us.  It's the warmth and passion that is fueled, and sometimes, there are no words to explain the happiness it brings.  As my friend would say," it just is, no explanation is required."  In the midst of living our lives and being so busy we sometimes forget how incredibly important it is to spend time with others.

Reaching out to connect is the purest of pleasures that is enabled by engaging each other in conversation.   On the most difficult of days, or in the happiness of the moment, it is the heart and soul part of us that enables us to understand why it is we need this connection.  It is essential to feeling complete.  Until next time...

About being able...

Hello Friends,

Part of being able to accomplish a task, no matter how challenging or awesome, is believing that you can.  Momentarily we question our ability, especially if all things are not going according to plan.  We wonder if being able is something super human or if it's as simple as knowing we can achieve that which we desire.

I think it's made up of sheer belief, determination, and resolve; this is at the heart of being able. Without the combination of one enhancing the other, we find ourselves wondering how to achieve the goal that is before us.  In a moment of reflection we come to understand all three are required; therein we find the passion that is fueled in being able.  Until next time...

About discouragement...

Hello Friends,

There are some days we wake up and we simply feel a sense of discouragement we cannot explain.  It could be that we feel we just didn't live up to others expectations of us and that makes us sad; or as importantly, we didn't live up to our own expectations we had.  Either way, these are the moments that sometimes threaten to wreck our attitude and cause us momentarily to fall off our game.

It's important we pause, relax and admit when required that we don't have all the details firmly planted in our mind, yet we know with certainty, we feel a sense of despair that isn't easily explained.  It's important we try to understand the emotions of discouragement, and when all else fails, we remind ourselves to be forgiving of our spirit.  In the light of the morning and a new day we find renewal and a new attitude.  Until next time...

About sheer peacefulness...

Hello Friends,

The idea of sheer peacefulness is wonderful, but we don't often find ourselves describing how it is we feel, with those exact words. The moments of our journey through life are just like that, and while they do not come along every day, often, they are experienced when we least expect them.  Perhaps that's what makes them magical, and why it is we wrap our arms around the moment for what it does for our heart and soul.

What I have come to know with certainty, is we do not stop long enough and allow ourselves to feel this sense of peacefulness and the luxury of this very thing. Instead, there is so much to do that our days fly by with lightning speed, and hardly moments to breath.  We forget to just be present, and find the enjoyment that is ours to embrace, and allow that sense of peacefulness to overwhelm us. Until next time...

About a single ray of hope...

Hello Friends,

Sometimes along our journey through life, what is needed most, is a single ray of hope. What I mean by that, is looking for those heart and soul moments that help us make us make it through the times of being overwhelmed.  Perhaps what's special about it, is that it often comes along when we least expect it.

It energizes us and makes us a believer once again in the every day events of our life.  It could be that it comes in the forms of unexpected kindness in the form of words of encouragement.  More often, it is the genuineness of the ray itself, no matter how that appears to us, that is the measure of the hope it brings to our life.  Until next time...

About being in it to win...

Hello Friends,

The analogy of being in it to win is the constant measure of commitment to anyone thing. Whether we are focused personally or professionally, that attitude, is what sets us up for success. In the moments of wondering if it is worth the effort, we come to know with certainty that it is. What I mean by that, is we cannot own every one's part along our journey through life, but we can inspire them to their potential and empower them to win with us.

When you are in it to win, obstacles are still present. While at times, we may feel we are in a valley, we need only to look up and see that the mountain top is but a climb a way towards achieving our goals. Winning doesn't come at all costs, yet it is the desire to win, and the attitude to move all others in that direction, that matters most. We never go it alone; rather we find our success is found in being in it to win together. Until next time...

About seeing your spirit shine...

Hello Friends,

A colleague recently asked me, "how it is you renew your spirit?"  Momentarily, I paused, wondering just what the answer was to something I know so surely within myself.  I struggled to find the words of explanation.  I realized as much as anything it's a feeling, sometimes not explainable; rather you simply know you are different from the way you were before.  The way you see and embrace things in altered and you wake up every single day with a renewed sense of gratefulness and all that lies before you.  While tired, you press on, ever focused on the goals you aspire to achieve.

What I have come to know with certainty, is our journey through life changes us.  We can choose with every event to be defeated and overwhelmed, or we can choose to just get better with every experience.  In the process of living our lives, we learn to open our heart and mind and take a risk, and it is then we learn to develop the internal tools and resolve we need.  We simply decide that life can beat us up, or it can define us, and as we learn to forgive ourselves that we simply don't have it all figured out, we allow our spirit to be renewed.  Until next time...

About a perfect day...

Hello Friends,

How often along our journey through life do we ever get to describe a perfect day?  The lyrics in the song by that very name, are sung with these thoughts; "it's a perfect day, I'm glad I got to spend it with."  Perhaps as much as anything, it causes us to momentarily pause, and to reflect over a friend or colleague, who by their very presence in our life, allow us to feel that sense of joy. It's important we find these times in our life for how they renew us and bring us happiness.

How amazing to know with unwavering certainty, that they come along way too seldom, so we must find a way to treasure them.  Maybe it's because we find ourselves so busy we fail to take these very moments to just be present with them.  In this time of gratefulness, we come to understand something as simple as a perfect day, and what was right in front of us all along; ours to remember.  Until next time...

About blowing in the wind...

Hello Friends,

The lyrics in the song "Blowing in the Wind", flow through my mind, and the words that capture my attention most are "the answer my friend is blowing in the wind, the answer is blowing in the wind."  Perhaps it draws me in as there is such truth that is found in always searching.  At times the answers are right in front of us, but more often, they are discovered through reflection and much soul searching.

We need to always be looking; to continue to search deep within us.  Every now and again we take a risk and hope that it leads to the answer we so want to find.  Other times, it's seems a pointless venture and we want to run away from everything and simply be alone.  We all find different ways to comprehend and search for that which we need.  Perhaps it is as simple as the answer blowing in the wind; to see it we must open our heart and mind and embrace it.  Until next time...

About home base...

Hello Friends,

As we travel through the amazing journey of our life, and at the height of reaching and enabling our goals, how wonderful to know we have a home base to return to.  There we know we are grounded; where we are present, and where we truly and completely live our lives.  What I have come to know with certainty, more than anything else is that a home base matters most.

It's easy in the moments of being so busy and paying attention to the multiple details in things needing our attention, to forget how important it is to stay connected to our present life and reality.  While it would be somewhat unrealistic to say it is perfect; however, it is where real joy, happiness, and unconditional love is found.  Until next time...

About transformation...

Hello Friends,

Transformation intuitively means change.  Sometimes it is entirely inward brought about by an event in one's life, and we know with certainty, the impact is immediate.  Other times, it is a process that requires much soul searching, but either way, we learn to embrace transformation.

We reflect that our thoughts and feelings have changed and we are no longer the same as we were.  While others may observe something has changed, they are just not sure what it is.  The words of explanation may elude us and perhaps that doesn't really matter.  After all, transformation is a very personal thing.  Until next time...

About being unique...

Hello Friends,

Every single person we meet along our journey through life will be unique.  While it's true some will share similiar traits, the reality is, each person brings their own set of qualities.  Sometimes we miss the opportunity to know them personally so we selectively only get to see bits and pieces of them.  Oscar Wilde penned these words "a work of art is the unique result of a unique temperament."

As I reflected on those words, my perspective was altered, in the sense of how it opened my eyes.  What I mean by that, is in understanding the impact of the words, I came to know with certainty, it is the very essence, of all that another person is, that creates their own personal work of art.  It isn't what someone else expects you to be that matters; it's what you know you are, that matters most and makes you unique.  Until next time...

About I'll stand by you...

Hello Friends,

I love the words in the song 'I'll stand by you.'  There is something almost magical, that in the midst of living our lives, we have surrounded ourselves with others who echo those very words.  Perhaps the happiness is found, not so much in that we always need them; rather in knowing, if we do, in a heart beat, they are there.

My favorite words, 'when you are standing at the crossroads, and you don't know what to do...I'll stand by you,' always stay present in my mind.  How amazing to just be present in embracing the emotion that it ours, knowing we have family and friends who care for us in just this way.  We come to know with certainty, that our journey, while at times challenging, is totally enabled by those who stand by us.  Until next time...

About smoothing the rough edges...

Hello Friends,

We often meet people in our life where we struggle to understand their demeanor, yet there is something about them, heart and soul, that connects us to them.  It could be, in the process of building the relationship, what we really want to do, is smooth out their rough edges.  We embrace all they share with us, but at the same time, struggle with how they are delivering their messages.

What I have come to know and understand with absolute certainty, is we must unconditionally accept each other with just the way we are.  That's not to say that we don't influence each other's styles, because that would not be realistic; rather in the process of living our lives, we discover the greatest value is found in treasuring the person, and meeting them right where they are. At times, that very thing has the power to smooth out the rough edges.  Until next time...

About joy cometh in the morning...

Hello Friends,

I love the phrase that "weeping may endure for an evening but joy cometh in the morning." I first heard those words when I was a teenager and I remember feeling this incredible sadness over an event in my life. Miraculously in just the right moment, somewhere, somehow, I heard those words and life for me moving forward was never the same.

What I mean by that is ever now and again something so impacts your life and in the moments of pausing, or in the sense of knowing how to feel, or what to do, you simply feel a life line and know you will be okay. I think life is just like that; complex yet ever forgiving of the spirit.  What I have come to know with certainty is you must embrace ever single moment without regret, knowing that all things work out for our good.  We just don't always know that is true in the moment.  Until next time...

About the day holding new promises...

Hello Friends,

Every day is one that holds the potential of new promises; a new sense of energy or as importantly an opportunity to just see things differently than you did the day before.  It's amazing how moving away from any one event in our life in that moment can make it just seem easier to manage on a new day.  While it's most natural to want to sort it all out, sometimes we can't; we are simply too tired.

We must find a way to know with certainty all that a new day can bring.  Equally we must be forgiving of ourselves when we can't find the energy; rather we learn that time is often what we need most.  In the universe of our life and in the higher power that is within us, we find a way.  That's what matters most.  Until next time...

About being in awe...

Hello Friends,

The sun shines on the landscape of our life and we are in awe of its beauty.  We momentarily pause and take in our surroundings knowing that each day is a precious gift in being able to take it all in.  In the process of living our life we reflect on the stillness of the day and the magnificent beauty that is ours to behold.

It is during these moments we know with certainty that life gives us such treasures, and in opening our heart and mind to all the potential that is ours, we find a sense of peacefulness.  It doesn't mean there aren't things to continue to sort through; rather it's more that we've learned to embrace the contentment that comes in knowing we don't have it all figured out yet, but in time we will.  Until next time...

About resting awhile...

Hello Friends,

Every now and again we simply must find time to rest awhile.  It isn't because we don't love every single thing we are doing; more it's that we are trying to do too much.  In the process of forcing ourselves to stop we simply give in and know we must take the break to renew our spirit and rest our weary mind.

Sometimes it's not magically; rather a walk in the park enjoying the fresh cool air of the day or simply stopping to just be present and not having to think or solve anything is the very enabler to rejuvenate one's spirit.  What I have come to know with certainty is I must make time to rest awhile knowing that in short order I will be myself again and no longer tired.  Until next time...

About a new dawn...

Hello Friends,

I marvel at the first light of day as a new dawn emerges. One's heart and mind is renewed afresh as the clearness of the day comes into view.  The thoughts unfold before us and while at times there simply seems too much to do, and not even time to do it in, there is something about rest than enables us to figure it out.

Perhaps it's the newness of the day; a fresh opportunity to get things right that makes us want to try harder and to embrace all that a new dawn can bring.  In the moments of daybreak our attitude is ours to choose.  We allow the pieces to fall into place and revive our energies and focus to get things done.  With a new dawn before us, we find renewed hope and joy.  Until next time...

About understanding...

Hello Friends,

Life calls upon us for understanding and we are constantly stretched to keep trying harder; more determined than we were yesterday to figure out what is needed from us.   Perhaps at times we simply find ourselves worn down in the process.  The right thoughts and words won't come to us and we just keep struggling.

Maybe what we need to do is simply admit we don't understand, then that very thing that will save us. What I mean by that, is coming to the realization that no amount of thinking about the circumstances will bring understanding to light.  Rather we give in and ask for help and in the process, enlightenment comes.  Until next time...

About making sacrifices...

Hello Friends,

Sometimes we must find a way in our life to make sacrifices.  We must learn to step outside ourselves and totally see what it is needed and find a way to do more things for others.  It's not that sacrifice is intended to mean totally giving up others things; more it is a matter of being in tune with what is needed in the moment, and that which we must take care of.

In the process of focusing on what others need, we enable happiness by our actions.  There's something special about the feelings that come about in our heart and mind thinking of sacrifice in this way.  Rather than thinking of it as giving up something, we come to know with certainty, we are actually getting something far more powerful; joy and contentment in the process.  That makes it all worthwhile.  Until next time...

About game on...

Hello Friends,

Every now and again, we are reminded of the value of a winning attitude; it comes to us when we need it most.  Perhaps, the words 'game on', are the best explanation we can find to describe the fighting spirit within us.    What I mean by that, is we must rediscover the reserves we keep in check, and the drive that propels us forward, causing us to think outside of our comfort zone.

In the times that challenge us most, we find the determination we need to figure things out.  The goal to win resurfaces within us and we come to experience again the joy found in energizing others to their potential.  What I have come to know with certainty is it was there all along; it just needed to be renewed with passion afresh.  Until next time...

About finding a way...

Hello Friends,

The essence of finding a way is realized through determination and never giving up.  Along our journey through life we experience many obstacles that threaten to wreck havoc with both our attitude and persistence.  It is then we must focus on never losing sight of the goal, and continually look within, to find a way to translate the dream into reality.

Perhaps it is during these times, we most find what it takes to keep pressing onward.  What I mean by that is refusing to admit defeat, or allow the very thing we want so much to elude us.  Often what's most needed is to regroup, and breath ever so calmly, allowing the panic to subside, so the true message of how to achieve the goal shines through.  It is then we figure it out and find a way.  Until next time...

About feeling wounded...

Hello Friends,

I often wonder what it means to feel wounded; how it is that some things just seem to get to the very soul of us and words cannot express the emotions.  Perhaps it's a hurt that will not heal and only time will enable that very thing to happen.  We must learn that life is sometimes like that and we cannot allow ourselves to pretend it's not important, yet equally, we must always carry on.

What I have come to know with certainty is feeling wounded is a normal thing.  We can't possibly protect every single emotion in our life nor can we predict how it is we will feel from any one experience.  Rather we must find a way to constantly keep our heart and mind open if we desire to have all that life will give to us.  In the process of feeling wounded we discover and process our inner thoughts.  Until next time...

About the maze...

Hello Friends,

Life so often reminds us of the complications of walking through a maze and trying to find our way out.  It could be we just aren't sure of where we want to go, and this keeps us wandering aimlessly.  It is during those times we discover what we really need most; that is, a clear vision of the direction in which we are heading.

Maybe the key is before we ever enter the maze is having an exit strategy.  What I mean by that is sometimes we find ourselves with just too much to process; we can't figure out what should be our first priority and how to action the steps to methodically move us through the maze.  There is no disappointment in exiting where we entered.  The key is in remembering where that was.  Until next time...

About what's most precious to us...

Hello Friends,

Everyday should be a constant reminder of what's most precious to us.  Along our journey we must remember how wonderful it is to wake up each morning and look forward to each day.  It's not that everyday is perfect; rather we approach the day with happiness in our heart and a sense of gratefulness that comes in knowing the most important thing that matters is we are well.

What I have come to know with certainty is these are the days we must not take for granted.  When we lose our perspective of the joy there is in knowing we are healthy it is then we most need to reassess our priorities.  It is during those times we must step back and put all other challenges of our life in perspective.  To be well is truly what's most precious to us; all other things fall into place.  Until next time...

About behaving...

Hello Friends,

In the midst of living the moments of life, we simply find ourselves wanting to step back, and just not do things in the right way expected.  What I mean is that, is sometimes, we do not want to behave.  It's not that we want to break all the rules of engagement; rather we desire to do things differently. Sometimes, that means stretching both ourselves and others outside their comfort zone.

The reality is, not everyone is ready to go there with us, and we must constantly tailor our behaviour, and this is just normal.  What I have come to know with certainty, is now and again, we must take a risk.  Without that, we cannot find the ways required to renew our spirit and keep a touch point on our heart and soul.  In the process of living our lives, we discover what works best for us and that, at times, not behaving, is a good thing for what it does to rejuvenate us.  Until next time...

About pausing for a while...

Hello Friends,

Along our journey through life, at times, we must simply pause and heal our spirit before we can continue onward.  What I mean by that, is often we do not realize or rationalize the burdens we are carrying, and the very work it takes to sort through the emotions, and restore our heart and mind to its full potential.

It's essential we take time out; moments to reflect and time to spend with others.  Sometimes, what is most required, is asking others to provide insight and help with what we need to do.  Staying present and doing nothing should not be optional, and perhaps, it is only when we pause and truly think about things, that we make decisions that just make sense.  Until next time...

About the future...

Hello Friends,

We spend so much of our lives thinking about and planning for the future.  While that is important, at times it causes us to forget about the present.  What I mean by that is our energies and reserves are caught up in what we must do to get ready for the future that it causes us to sometimes miss the very opportunities that are right in front of us wanting our attention.

What I have come to know with certainty is the future is important; that's true.  More important though, is right now, and what it is we are doing to find joy and happiness in our life.  If we miss this time, we miss the things that most require our energy and devotion.  It is where we find our sense of contentment and knowing we are living everyday to the fullest.  The future lies ahead but today is the real gift; that is, the present moment.  Until next time...

About being healed...

Hello Everyone,

There are so many moments in our life we reflect back on and wonder how it is we healed the emotions and learned something from every single experience.  What I mean by that is so often we are faced with struggles that tend to wear us down; we wonder how to sort through all that life throws at us, yet somehow we find a way.

Perhaps it's the essence of the inner strength found deep within us that makes it possible to embrace everything that is part of our life and refines our character.  In learning to let go of any bitterness, and in the process of struggling to feel whole again, we come to know with certainty, we are so much more resilient than we ever thought was possible.  We discover our true character and what is needed to find hope.  Until next time...

About seeing things differently...

Hello Friends,

There are times in our life when we must force ourselves to see things differently.  What I mean by that is we can no longer stay where we are; we must move away from always expecting comfortable and predictable events.  Life is not simple like that, and try as we might, change happens all around us and requires our thinking to change with it.

Seeing things from a different perspective is often hard on the heart and mind.  It requires us to move in a new direction, or as importantly, to walk away from an existing direction in which we were headed.  The only way to see things differently is to be open to possibilities and the realization the choices we make at times are not optional; rather we find they are essential for our survival.  Until next time...

About matters of the heart...

Hello Friends,

Perhaps the most difficult of all things to figure out is the heart's emotions and how we struggle at times to sort through things that won't seem to leave our mind.   It's hard to understand how they simply will not leave us, and while we want to solve them and as importantly let them go, we come to know with certainty that is it often time that is the greatest enabler.

We wonder why it is we so care and why in the process we don't just decide it is no longer worth the effort.  Perhaps that actually happens more often than we think but then we pause and realize that matters of the heart do take time to resolve.  In processing the emotions we know this is an essential part of letting go.  Until next time...

About being selectively sociable...

Hello Friends,

With all that surrounds us and every possible media for engaging others and staying connected, we find we must choose which way to go.  We cannot be all things to all people.  What I mean by that are the various ways we choose to be sociable.  Our lives are so very busy and full of demands on our schedule, so how do we choose the ways we are going to communicate and who we will spend our time with?

The reality is we cannot be part of everything, so we choose to be selectively sociable.  At times, all we really desire is a cup of coffee and the genuine warmth and comfort of a discussion with another person.  We tire of the relenting need of the demands to be online, when the gift of a face to face meeting simply makes us happy. In being forgiving of ourselves, we come to know with certainty, that the choice is ours to make; it may seem selfish yet it is true and we own our decisions.  Until next time...

About our reality...

Hello Friends,

Acceptance is the key to our reality.  What I mean by that is life surrounds us each day with new challenges and equally with wonderful opportunities.  Staying present in the moment, while embracing all that life has to offer, is our reality and the key to our happiness.  What I mean by that is we must constantly revisit our reality; when we lose touch with that we lose ourselves in the process.

Sometimes, we want to escape and find a place where no demands are placed on our time; where no decisions must be made, or other things so contingent on the events of our life.  Momentarily we know we are in need of a break, and even if for just a little while, we run away and heal our soul.  The reality and responsibilities of our life bring us back to the present and our reality.  We simply come to know with certainty that is where we must find our happiness.  Until next time...

About hard times...

Hello Friends,

We wake to the sound of the alarm and the start of a new day.  Our mind momentarily wanders and we think about the many things that must get done; what we must do first.  It wouldn't be realistic to say that everyday one jumps out of bed with vigor and enthusiasm; rather we drag out weary but grateful that a hot shower and a cup of coffee will soon allow us to connect our mind and body.

What I have come to know with certainty is somethings in our life are hard to manage; difficult to sort through and come to terms with.  All we really have is the reality that all things change and this makes harder times easier to deal with.  Our attitudes each day determine whether we will allow these moments to beat us up or whether we will allow them to simply make us better.  That is our own personal choice and how it defines who we become.  Until next time...

About the beauty of a waterfall...

Hello Friends,

Every time I think of a waterfall, I am overcome by its beauty.  The magic of its presence, and the constant flow of the water, reminds me that life is ours to embrace, and every experience, ours to own.  We cannot possibly know or predict when life will give us these amazing gifts; they come along when we least expect it.  To embrace the awe in a waterfall, is to embrace the moments of our life.

What I have come to know with certainty, is we must look for the beauty that surrounds us, and all the joy that is there for the taking.  We cannot miss this time for how it rejuvenates us, and how it makes us feel complete and alive.  In the midst of living our life we find taking time to behold the beauty of a waterfall, the very thing that is needed to renew our energy and our soul.  Until next time...

About bend but do not break...

Hello Friends,

The wind sways the branches on the tree causing it to bend, but they do not break.  It reminds us of the internal resolve and determination we must personally find within ourselves. What I have come know with certainty is the winds of our life find a way to our very soul.

Perhaps its how we are tested; how we learn to adapt and grow with each new experience that comes our way. It's important that we don't deny that at times it's just plain difficult. It is by embracing it all and learning to bend that we discover what we truly need.  Until next time...

About memorable moments...

Hello Friends,

Our journey through life is simply made up of memorable moments; those events that are forever emblazoned in our hearts and minds, and we know for sure from that moment on, our focus has changed.  Perhaps it's more about what the event or the interaction does for us in terms of how it renews our spirit, or maybe it's the unbelievable gift it gives to us in restoring how it is we feel about our self personally.

It may be simply that we feel alive in a way that touches to the core of us and that awakens afresh the passion within.  Whatever is the case, what I have come to know with certainty, is we must look for these moments for how they rejuvenate us and keep us in tune with what is most important.  To miss these moments is to miss the happiness of our life.  Until next time...

About atonement...

Hello Friends,

I would suppose when one thinks of the word atonement they think of  something that requires a spiritual experience.  Rather I tend to think of it in terms of what is required to make something right; in essence whole again.  What I mean by that, is knowing when nothing else comes to our heart and mind, we must simply ask the other person what is needed.  We are at loss to figure it out ourselves.

Perhaps it's because we know we disappointed them, or as importantly, we know we just didn't live up to the expectations they had of us; either way atonement means making it right.  What I have come to know with certainty is we can never take for granted those we hurt.  Rather, it is being in tune to the signals and messages, that allows us to constantly readjust.  In the end sometimes all we have is asking for forgiveness, and as importantly, forgiving ourselves in the process.  Until next time...

About being able...

Hello Friends,

George Elliott pens this most amazing phrase; "It's never too late to become the person you might have been."  I love the thoughts that come to my mind as I think about the determination and resolve we must find within ourselves.  Of utmost importance is the belief that this capability is ours to embrace.   So often we look to others to enable our goals and while their support is necessary and invaluable, it is only when we find the passion and the fire within, that we press on.

What I have come to know with certainty is the vision must be ever present in our mind and what it is we desire to have happen.  Without it we do not know what we are striving to achieve.  With that in mind, we focus on becoming the person we want to be, and find a way to action the dream we desire.  It is the daily renewal of our spirit that enables that very thing to happen.  Until next time...

About the will to win...

Hello Friends,

Life challenges us constantly but equally refreshes us anew each day.  With a restful mind and a never ending passionate heart it reminds us of our sheer desire to win and the work effort required.  It's rare we encounter events that just seem easy and require little from us.  Rather, we more often need a spark, a flame, or something that gives us hope we will make it.

What I have come to know with certainty is life does not always play fair.  Sometimes by the very nature of our tasks we are exhausted and that very thing makes us call into question our ability to win.  It is then we find the fighting spirit within ourselves;  the determination and resolve to rise above, figure things out, and make it to our goal.  Never give up short of enabling your dream to come true.  Until next time...

About it's never too late...

Hello Friends,

Life is full of experiences.  To wrap our heart and mind around all that life presents, is a natural part of our journey through life.  It is never too late to embrace something new especially if it's something that brings us joy.

Sometimes we find ourselves simply absorbed in the moment and we fail to see all that is right around us. We come to understand with certainty that life is not about what it was; more, it is about what is.  In that moment of understanding we touch and feel and embrace the warmth that is found in discovering new things.  Until next time...

About soaring to new heights...

Hello Friends,

The very thought and potential it takes to soar to new heights creates a vision of challenging moments.  What passion is required, and what sense of determination is enabled within us to get there?  Along the way there are obstacles to overcome and often walls to scale.  We encounter storms that throw us off our game and require us to constantly adjust our attitudes.

We must continually keep our eye on the goal and refocus our efforts ongoing to not be discouraged.  It is the journey and the effort that matters most.  With confidence in hand, we come to know with absolute certainty, we are soaring to new heights, and that very thing, makes all the difference.  Until next time...

About trying again...

Hello Friends,

What really counts most along our journey through life is simply the ability to keep trying again until we get it right.  While we sometimes beat ourselves up for not having it all figured out, the reality is we are ever redefining the boundaries and living through constant change and new experiences.

We trust that the principles we have learned are able to be applied and this very thing saves us from making wrong decisions.  The truth is we are not always prepared for the surprises that come our way.  In those moments, we must regroup our thoughts, apply our energies, and simply try again.  That is all we really have.  Until next time...

About choosing not to quit...

Hello Friends,

Everyday we have decisions to make along our journey through life.  It's never been optional in my mind to ever quit and give up short of reaching my goals.  I must admit I've been momentarily stopped and caused to step back, reassess, and wonder at times how to just keep pressing onward.

I love the quote that Emily Dickinson penned so long ago; "not knowing when the dawn will come, I open every door".  Perhaps that is the essence of not quitting.  What I mean by that is looking at all options and searching for every single thing that enables us to keep going.  I've come to know with certainty, this is the attitude we must embrace; with it we find success.  Until next time...

About being inconsolable...

Hello Friends,

There are moments as we travel on our journey through life when there are no words to describe our emotions except to say, we are inconsolable. We feel lost and our emotions numb from the pain our heart is going through.  More than anything else, we desire to to stop hurting and feel whole again.

The more we try to think things through and not think of the situation or how it is we feel, the greater our mind works to refuse to leave it behind.  As we process the emotions we come to know that it is only time that makes the moments easier.  We learn to move past feeling inconsolable and find our happiness again.  Until next time...

About written in stone...

Hello Friends,

There are somethings we discover along are journey through life that are written in stone; indelibly planted in the landscape and never to be changed.  Perhaps that helps us to adjust and understand it's importance and why things are that very way.  It's inherent in our nature to want to change things and the more we come to understand what's not changeable the happier and more content we become.

The boundaries are defined and the rules of engagement clearly laid out.  We respect these and live within them.  While we don't always like them or want to embrace them, we find in the process of embracing that which is written in stone a way to deal with them and find contentment.  Until next time...

About being rescued...

Hello Friends,

How wonderful to meet people on our journey,  who by their very presence, rescue us.  In the process of living our lives we are often overwhelmed and at a loss with what to do next.  In the right moment in time, they walk into our lives and rescue us. What I mean by that, is somehow they get to us, and help us to understand that what we feel, is okay.

Often they help us to look outside ourselves and see what is right in front that is ours to discover, and what we need to move on.  Perhaps that is the very essence of how they save us rather than offering words of advice. In the right moment in time, in the warmness of a conversation, or simply a hug, we find all that is needed to rescue us.  Until next time...

About facing the music...

Hello Friends,

I often reflect over what is means to have to face the music.  It's one of those terms that intrigues me and causes me to wonder if it refers to something different than I imagined.  Perhaps it's the result of what happens to you when you haven't handled a situation well and you now must face the consequences.

We take risks everyday and if we were to worry over every single one and the outcomes, we would miss the journey of our life.  It's important we are aware of that and not prevent ourselves from going for that which we so desire and live in fear of it.  Rather, we come to understand, and know with certainty, there will always be moments for facing the music.  We do so then, and figure it out.  Until next time...
